Thoughtful Richard Del ConnorKung Fu Cowboy in San Diego, California

I'm anxious to attend my 40th-year high school reunion of PHHS '72, Patrick Henry High School, in San Diego, California.

Here's the short bio I sent the reunion committee:

Hello from many places. I'm settling down in San Diego again. After my being exiled to St. John's Newfoundland in 1970, I returned in time for the 1972 graduation after hitchhiking North America for a while.

I left San Diego in 1978 after winning the KPRI Battle of the Bands contest. As first place winners we got to perform a half hour radio show. Some of the songs from that KPRI radio show are at my website:

I moved to Los Angeles in 1978 to be a rock star. I designed recording studios and mastering labs, did carpentry remodeling for the major recording studios, rock stars, and some movie stars.

Graduated UCLA Motion Pictures Program in 1987 and worked in Hollywood commercials and movies and for MTV as a Lighting Director, Cinematographer, and Actor. Some of my songs were in some movies.

I Graduated my Tai Mantis Federation Kung Fu school in 1984 and have been teaching Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Yang Style Tai Chi, and Northern Praying Mantis since then.

In 1992 I founded Shaolin Chi Mantis Traditional Buddhist Gongfu<br>

In 1996 I founded the nonprofit charity: Tai Chi Youth

In 2008 I founded Buddha Kung Fu

My record company, Shaolin Records releases my records under a variety of artist names:
American Zen
Buddha Zhen
Coyote Graveyard
Lotus
THC The Hippy Coyote
The Rich

I was a Mr. Mom from 1991 to 2010. If you get my Buddha Kung Fu Student Manual, there is a 40-page history of me with pictures of my kids growing up in my Kung Fu and Tai Chi classes in Utah and California. They never had a babysitter for a single hour during those years, or preschool, and I home-schooled my daughter for several years.

I'm settling down now, and hope to make San Diego my home, or at least homebase for the rest of my life.

Love,

Album Cover American Zen LEVEL 4Kung Fu Cowboy in Las Vegas

My life is a rock opera.

You've heard me say that before. I'm anxious to end this tale though. Being in Las Vegas has been a catastrophe for me... but I'm still looking for that silver lining.

Whether my life's good or bad, when I sit down with my guitar, I often have to ask myself, "Do I want to write a song?" Sometimes I say, "No," to myself, because I don't want to remember what's bothering me. But yesterday, I thought, "Well, let's not leave this nightmare in Vegas without at least one song." So here it is, "USE ME."

The blues requires some hardship and sorrow--so this is a real blues song, "Use Me," by Richard Del Connor, The Hippy Coyote. I hope you like it. I've listened to it a few times and I find it somehow inspiring--despite its desperation.

Tell me how you like it. My contact info is always at www.RichardDelConnor.com
